Starseeds ─ 2D Animation
Starseeds is a whimsical, artistically creative short animation that blends mixed-media techniques to explore a cosmic cycle of birth and growth. Prompted by a randomised combination of three storytelling dice (magic wand, shooting star & flower), the narrative follows stars falling like seeds onto Earth, planting themselves, and blooming into flowers whose centres hold tiny stars—which then return to the sky, creating a charming, cyclical journey of life and nature.
To realise this story, the project integrates three distinct animation methods: hand-drawn line art, paper-cut stop-motion aesthetics, and live-action macro footage.
Created as a foundational 2D Animation project at BURG, the piece pairs its organic visuals with delicate chime and bell sound effects that match the magical, twinkling aesthetic, giving the short the feel of a poetic bedtime story.
